Lumbamed Facet - Lumbar Support for Facet Joint Osteoarthritis

Product Overview

The Lumbamed Facet is a lumbar support orthotic designed to alleviate pain and improve stability in the lumbar spine. It is specifically intended for the treatment of facet joint osteoarthritis and other lower back conditions. The device provides targeted relief by reducing lordosis, supporting the pelvis, and stabilizing the lumbosacral transition through a double-3-point strap system.

Key Features

  • Precise Double-3-Point Strap System – Effectively regulates intra-abdominal pressure for optimal support.
  • Integrated Hand Loops – Ensures easy handling and a secure fit.
  • Facet Joint Relief – Reduces lordosis and relieves strain on the lumbar spine.
  • Pelvic Support – Holds the pelvis in an upright position to improve posture and stability.
  • Rigid Material – Provides firm support while allowing flexibility for movement.
  • Comfort Zone Design – Special cut in the groin area ensures a comfortable and secure fit.

Material Composition

  • Fabric: Polyamide, Polyester, Elastane

Intended Use

The Lumbamed Facet provides targeted pain relief by stabilizing the lumbar spine and reducing pressure on the facet joints. It works by combining:

  • Compression knit fabric to support the abdominal region
  • Integrated stabilizing back rods to enhance spinal alignment
  • Adjustable pull strap system to regulate pressure and support recovery

The double-3-point strap system applies individualized pressure management, creating support points at the pelvis and upper lumbar spine, which helps reduce excessive curvature (lordosis) and relieve pain.

This orthotic can be worn throughout the day depending on individual needs. However, if excessive discomfort or pain occurs, remove the support and consult a medical professional.

Fitting Instructions

How to Put on the Brace:

  1. Prepare the brace – Loosen the straps by detaching the Velcro ends and repositioning them on the velour section of the belt.
  2. Ensure proper orientation – The magenta edge on the right-hand inner fastener should be pointing upwards.
  3. Wrap the brace around your body – Place your left hand in the inner hand strap of the left fastener and position the brace correctly.
  4. Secure the fasteners – Slide your right hand into the outer hand strap on the right fastener and pull both sides together evenly. The lower edge should sit just above the pubic bone.
  5. Adjust the pull straps
    • First, unfasten and tighten the lower pull straps to your desired support level.
    • Then, do the same for the upper pull straps to customize compression and stability.

Technician Guidelines

  • The strap length can be adjusted by cutting at the edge of the Y fastener.
  • Initial fitting should be performed by a trained medical professional.
